About Us

For over fifty years the physicians and nurse anesthetists of Anesthesiology Group Associates have been providing compassionate and quality anesthesia care to the Baton Rouge community and the surrounding area. We are skilled in providing general as well as regional anesthesia for a variety of surgical cases including orthopaedic, pediatric, cardiac, neurosurgery, gynecology, urology, bariatric and general surgery. We also offer 24-7 on call service for emergencies and traumas. Cutting edge and dedicated, we provide anesthesia services to multiple facilities including one of the biggest and busiest hospitals in the southeast, Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center.

Our Mission

To provide superior quality, comprehensive and compassionate anesthesia services for our patients, facilities, referring physicians, and community while allowing our anesthesia providers to pursue personal and professional fulfillment.

 

Anesthesia Instructions

  • Do not eat or drink anything after 11pm.

  • Take your regularly scheduled morning heart and BP meds as instructed by physician on the day of surgery with a small sip of water.

  • Bring all of your medications with you.

  • Stop any over the counter supplements and herbals 2 WEEKS before surgery.

  • Stop any diet pills 2 WEEKS before surgery.

  • Stop smoking at least 24 hrs. prior to surgery. Stopping for six to eight weeks before surgery is ideal.

  • Remove contact lenses and removable dental appliances before entering the operating room.

  • If you are a chronic pain patient, you may take your regularly scheduled morning dose of pain medications on the day of surgery with a small sip of water. Please let your anesthesia provider know if you are using a fentanyl patch.
